FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, holistic therapy that focuses on specific points on the feet and hands that correspond with different areas of the body. By applying targeted pressure, reflexology helps encourage relaxation, balance, and the body's natural healing processes.
What can reflexology help with?
Reflexology is commonly used to help reduce stress, promote deep relaxation, support overall wellness, and encourage better circulation. Many people also find it helpful for easing tension, improving sleep, and supporting general well-being.
What happens during a reflexology session?
You'll remain fully clothed and relax comfortably while your feet are treated using gentle, precise pressure techniques. Sessions are calming and nurturing, and many clients drift into a deeply relaxed state.
Does reflexology hurt?
Reflexology should never be painful. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, but pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level. Your feedback is welcome throughout the session.
Is reflexology safe?
Yes, reflexology is a safe, non-invasive therapy for most people. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or have any concerns, please let me know so your session can be tailored appropriately.
How often should I receive reflexology?
This varies from person to person. Some clients enjoy reflexology as a regular self-care practice, while others book sessions as needed for relaxation or support during stressful times. We can discuss what feels right for you.
What is a warm paraffin treatment?
Warm paraffin therapy involves dipping the hands or feet into soothing, heated paraffin wax that has been poured into a plastic bag, then wrapping your hands or feet in warm towels. It deeply moisturizes the skin, helps ease joint stiffness, and promotes relaxation - making it a lovely add-on to reflexology.
How can I prepare for my appointment?
There's very little preparation needed. Wearing comfortable clothing is recommended, and arriving a few minutes early allows you to settle in and relax before your session.
Are you a registered practitioner?
Yes, I am a Registered Reflexologist and a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC).
Do you offer direct billing or insurance receipts?
Insurance coverage varies by provider. I'm happy to provide receipts for reflexology services so you can submit them to your insurance company if applicable.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash or e-transfer to dwreflexologist@gmail.com
